More About The Author

Sitting in my Study, with a hot cup of Folger’s Vanilla Biscotti coffee, my Bible and some devotional reading, talking to the leader of my life, Jesus Christ, is my preferred way to begin the day. I’ve invested my life in pastoral ministry in four churches over 42 years, most recently with First Baptist Church in Savoy, IL (Champaign-Urbana). Three schools shaped my life for ministry: Judson University in Elgin, IL (BA); Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN (MDiv); and Northern Seminary in Lombard, IL (DMin). Having retired in the spring of 2015, I’m enjoying time with the love of my life, Mary, and turning my ministry passions to writing. Mary and I have been married 51 years. Our two daughters and their husbands have given us six grandchildren and two adopted grandchildren. Our oldest grandchild and his wife introduced us to great-grandparenting in 2015 with their little, Nora, and in 2017 they gave us Jaxon. We love being grandparents!
Randy & MaryMary and I enjoy time with our family, movies, theater, and travel. I enjoy walks with our miniature dachshund, reading, fishing, ham radio, and writing. The passion of my life is to worship and know the living God, to be transformed by his son, Jesus Christ, to make Jesus known to others, and to serve God and others with the Holy Spirit’s energy and power.
